ONE-ON-ONE/SMALL-GROUP MATH TUTORING
(for 7 to 12th graders)
One of The Math
Coach’s missions is to serve those middle and high school students who would
like extra help with their math classes for concepts-clarifications and
assignment assistance as well as test-prep for college and university
admissions within an one-on-one context. As such, The Math Coach offers
one-on-one/small-group math tutoring services in the following subjects:
Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus (including College
Algebra and Trigonometry), and math sections of standardized tests such as
SAT-Math, SAT-Math IC, SAT-Math IIC, and ACT-Math.
In the majority of cases—especially for the regular math courses—we will utilize students’ textbooks and related materials as the primary references for the tutoring session(s), despite the fact that supplementary resources may be introduced when deemed necessary by the facilitator. As for standardized test-prep, materials to be used will be open for discussions and mutually agreed upon by the student and the facilitator. Tutoring sessions can take place either in our center (with space available) or away from our center (students' homes, public library, etc.) if it is located in close proximity to the center (usually no more than a radius of 5 miles driving distance from the center).
Tutoring fee is $30/hour (one-on-one) and $25/hour/student (small-group with 2-3 students) if tutoring takes place in our center; $40/hour (one-on-one) and $35/hour/student (small-group with 2-3 students) if tutoring takes place away from our center. Additionally, a minimum of two tutoring hours must be scheduled at a time if tutoring takes place away from our center. All one-on-one/small-group tutoring sessions are arranged by appointment only. For further questions pertaining to time schedule or number of tutoring hours desired, please call our office at (626) 284-3888 or (626) 512-1332.
